Meet Matt
Hi Everyone! I’m Matthew Silva, and I’m thrilled to join ŌVOX as a personal and group trainer. My fitness journey started early with a passion for sports, particularly baseball, which I began playing at the age of 5 all up until the high school varsity level, earning multiple varsity letters. This ignited my love for training, leading me to the weight room to transform my naturally skinny physique into strength and resilience.
High school brought a significant hurdle when I broke my wrist playing baseball, intensifying my fascination with the human body. I pursued this interest academically, delving into human physiology during my studies. This newfound knowledge and my desire to assist others led me to become a volunteer EMT in Matawan/Aberdeen, an experience I’ve cherished for three years and counting.
Simultaneously, my interest in the body’s mechanics within the context of exercise grew. I’m currently completing my Bachelor’s in Exercise Science at Rutgers University and hold a NASM certification. As a trainer, my mission extends beyond guiding clients through effective workouts. I aim to empower them with a deep understanding of their bodies, providing knowledge that lasts beyond the gym.
My mantra is, “Let’s work together to unlock your full potential and create a healthier, happier you,” emphasizing continuous growth and education. Ultimately, I aspire to expand my knowledge further and become a doctor, solidifying my commitment to helping others lead healthier, more fulfilling lives. Additionally, I utilize my Spanish heritage and proficiency in the Spanish language to make a difference among a diverse group of people.
I’m excited to start this transformative fitness journey with you at ŌVOX!
